Doncaster Police Sports & Social Club held a Police Ball recently and generously donated the raffle proceeds of £500 to us.

On Tuesday 27th May 2008 Dominic Chambers of Child Victims of Crime attended at Dalkeith Police Station where he picked up a cheque to the value of £1154.

The money was raised within the Public Protection Unit at Dalkeith Police Station where 19 staff attempted to lose weight over the month of April. The starting weight within the unit was 275 Stone 4 Pounds. The Weight at the end was 267 Stone 1 Pound, a loss of 8 Stone 3 Pounds (115 Pounds)

A prize on offer to the person who had the highest percentage weight loss was won by DC Glen Sives who lost 19 pounds (7.9 % body weight). The competition to guess the total amount lost was won by Sgt Malcolm Edgar Team 3 Dalkeith Custody who guessed 117 Pounds lost.

The Divisional Commander, Chief Superintendent Terry Powell handed over the cheque saying, “ It's great to see our staff taking an interest in their own health and well-being and at the same time supporting what is an excellent police charity targeting assistance to child victims of crime. I know we have used the charity's services for local child victims and it's good that our staff are giving something back .”

Thanks to all who participated and more importantly supported with donations and sponsorship.

On 17th May 2008 Louise Grabham from Yeovil Child Abuse Investigation Team held her second coffee morning & plant sale with colleagues, friends and neighbours at West Chinnock and once again raised around £800.

We are extremely grateful to the Jenkins family and friends who are supporting CVOC in memory of Emily Jenkins, who was a victim of the July 2005 bombings in London and have so far raised in excess of £15,000.
